Cold Brew Tiramisu

Cold Brew Tiramisu

How to Make the Ultimate Tiramisu with Barth Lane Cold Brew

Tiramisu is one of those desserts that feels fancy… but is secretly very achievable. And when you swap traditional espresso for Barth Lane Coffee Cold Brew, you get a version that’s smoother, richer, and next-level good.

Cold brew brings chocolatey depth without bitterness, meaning every bite is balanced, creamy, and dangerously moreish.

Let’s get into it ☕🍰

Why Use Cold Brew in Tiramisu?

Traditional tiramisu relies on hot espresso, which can sometimes overpower the dessert or add bitterness once cooled. Our cold brew flips the script:

- Smoother flavour – no harsh acidity

- Naturally sweet, chocolatey notes

- Perfect soak – absorbs beautifully into the sponge

- Make-ahead friendly – no last-minute brewing stress

In short: it’s good for the soul and even better in dessert form.

Ingredients (Serves 6–8)

Coffee Layer

- 1 cup Barth Lane Cold Brew (chilled)

- 2 tbsp coffee liqueur or dark rum (optional)

Cream Layer

- 4 egg yolks

- ½ cup caster sugar

- 250g mascarpone

- 1 cup thickened cream (cold)

Assembly

- 200–250g savoiardi (ladyfinger biscuits)

- Unsweetened cocoa powder, for dusting

- Dark chocolate shavings (optional but elite)

Method

1. Prep the Coffee

Pour your Barth Lane Cold Brew into a shallow bowl. Stir in the liqueur if using. Set aside.

Pro tip: Our cold brew is already dialled in, so no sugar needed here.

2. Make the Mascarpone Cream

1. Whisk egg yolks and sugar over a gentle double boiler until pale, thick, and creamy.

2. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.

3. Gently fold in the mascarpone until smooth

4. In a separate bowl, whip the cream to soft peaks.

5. Fold the whipped cream through the mascarpone mixture until light and silky.

3. Assemble the Tiramisu

1. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cold brew (1–2 seconds max).

2. Layer soaked biscuits into the base of your dish.

3. Spread over half the mascarpone cream.

4. Repeat with another layer of coffee-soaked biscuits.

5. Finish with the remaining cream, smoothing the top.

4. Chill & Set

Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight. This is where the magic happens.

5. Finish & Serve

Just before serving:

- Dust generously with cocoa powder

- Add chocolate shavings if you’re feeling fancy

Slice, serve, and watch it disappear.

Serving Tips

- Serve slightly chilled (not ice-cold) for best texture

- Pairs beautifully with… another cold brew

- Even better the next day (if it lasts that long)

Final Thoughts

This cold brew tiramisu is smooth, balanced, and seriously indulgent — the kind of dessert that makes people ask “what did you do differently?”

Answer: better coffee.

If you’ve got a cask of Barth Lane Cold Brew in the fridge, this is your sign to turn it into dessert.
